Driving on the Levie that totally surrounds the lake. The lake has so many reeds growing near the shore that there are only narrow waterways to get out to the main part of the lake.

Sugarcane, Orange Juice & Lake Okeechobee, Florida
We took a 4 1/2 hour tour today, in Clewiston. We saw a Sugar Mill, Sugar Refinery and Orange Juice Factory. We could not go into the sugarcane fields as there has been too much rain. We went to see the harvested sugarcane being dumped into train cars for transporting to the Sugar Mill. After that, they go to the Sugar Refinery and back on to the rail cars for shipping to customers.
